It heats the back of my neck and my shoulders, with the muscles on the front of my chest all simultaneously. I am a plus size female and it fits me just good. There are low, medium, med high and high settings and I personally like the highest setting for my tough muscle aches. I sit at a computer all day so I frequently get inflexible and achy in my neck and shoulders simultaneously. Nothing else fit quite like this does, and it stays in place pretty well. The fabric cover helps prevent slipping off, but may be easily removed for washing.
As for the reviewers that say this product does not get hot enough, I find the solution is to lean back into it while on the sofa or the bed. The soft, light pressure this applies does the trick. My aches go away after 20 30 minutes and I can go about my day.
I could certainly recommend this product to anybody who finds that the common, rectangular heating pads do not give the coverage they need or to anybody who doesn’t want to keep running to the microwave to re heat the non electrical ones. To me, it was totally worth the cost & shipping, since I could not find it anywhere else.

I haved problems with my neck and shoulders when I got off work, so I bought the neck and shoulder heat pad. It works wonders on them both. I do not hurt as bad after I use it. My left shoulder grinds so the heat on it makes it not hurt so much. I really like it and it was what I looked for to help ease the ache. It’s perfect.

I know that many people said it was not hot enough, but my wife said that you will not want it on high or you’ll roast. She uses it on the warm setting and it’s plenty warm enough. I could greatly recommend this product.
